President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the presidential home.
He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “heartbroken”.
Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Officials have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.
The incident led the Trump administration to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to possessors of travel documents.
The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey said on television.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to speak to the family.
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with distinction, per the state guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor told the crowd at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
