Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
