Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Charges

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
