Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
